Dr. Alan Mathew's primary goal as a dentist is to improve the quality of life for his patients through comprehensive dental care. He studied at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore and graduated in 2010. His practice focuses on minimal intervention, preservation of natural teeth, and biomimetic dentistry, which involves restoring natural tooth structure and preserving as much of the tooth as possible.
Dr. Mathew emphasizes prevention, enhancing oral hygiene, and remineralization techniques for initial caries. When necessary, he prioritizes conservative treatments like restorations and pulp preservation techniques before considering root canal therapy or extraction.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mathew enjoys working out, has a passion for photography and aviation, and is a dedicated father and husband. He believes that like cars, teeth are prone to wear and have a finite lifespan. His job as a dentist is akin to that of a mechanic, providing regular service and fixing problems at the start to avoid extensive repairs and thereby increasing the longevity of natural teeth. As DeVan said, "Perpetual preservation of what remains is more important than the meticulous replacement of what is missing.
“Awesome people, great service. I was very happy to get my broken tooth fixed and they squeezed me in even with the small time slot I came in with to get the tooth checked. Thank you Cariboo Dental :)"
