What is the teeth whitening process?
Teeth whitening or “bleaching” can be achieved in our dental office quickly and safely. See your smile transform from discoloured, stained and yellow into flawless pearly-white.
First we will take an impression of your mouth to create a custom bleaching tray, provide you with a special bleaching agent that you put into the clear trays. The bleaching agent forms bubbles which remove stains from the tooth enamel in a short timeframe. You’ll only need to wear the whitening trays for a few hours per day. This tooth whitening method will not alter the tooth structure or any existing dental work.
Tooth discolouration can be caused from diet such as consuming coffee, black teas, soda, red wine, and even age. In cases of extreme tooth discolouration, crowns or veneers may be the only option to achieve a brighter smile. Due to the low cost of bleaching compared to veneers or bridges, trying teeth bleaching first is recommended to see if you can achieve your desired whitening goals.
